Experience of neck and shoulder pain and the effects of foam rolling
I have some pain in the back of my neck. I often feel a stiff sensation. Maybe because I used to sit at a desk for a long time working, it feels like a occupational hazard, and my neck often feels stiff. So I looked into ways to relieve the pain and heard that a foam roller is good. I think I bought it for about 5,000 won at Daiso. I place it behind my neck and gently move it up and down to loosen the muscles. It feels like a gentle massage with a poking sensation. The foam roller has many bumps and is quite hard. I was worried because it's not very soft, but surprisingly, it feels cool and comfortable.
Before these pains occur, I wake up in the morning and do stretching and light yoga poses while using a foam roller to loosen my neck. As I do this, I not only loosen my neck but also my shoulders and back with the foam roller. As a result, I feel much more refreshed in the mornings and notice an improvement in my overall condition.^^
