A few years ago, I dropped something in a hard-to-reach place, and I tried to stretch my arm to pick it up. It was just within reach, and as I applied force, I felt my shoulder stretch out. Since then, my shoulder has been hurting a lot. I went to the hospital, and they said it was due to muscle tightness. I was prescribed medication and received physical therapy, which seemed to help temporarily, but the pain recurred. So I decided to try something at home. First, I soaked about three towels in water, squeezed out the excess water, and put them in a zipper bag. I microwaved them for about 3-4 minutes to make steam towels. After taking each out and unfolding them, I shook them a few times to cool slightly and then placed them on the painful area for warm compresses. I did this with about three steam towels for around 30 minutes. Then, I used a massager that wraps around both shoulders. By running various modes on the massager for about 30 minutes, I was able to loosen the tense neck and shoulders.
