The doctor who properly diagnosed the herniated disc

The doctor who properly diagnosed the herniated disc

A few years ago, I suffered from a herniated disc in my lower back...

I didn't need any procedures or surgeries, but I truly went through an incredibly difficult time.

I had a backache, so I couldn't walk and was unable to get up from lying down.

At that time, after receiving the nerve injection and starting to swim, I really improved and was able to live a normal life.

This time, I strained my lower back while doing swimming movements, and I thought I couldn't do it anymore afterward, so I stopped... but the pain continued.

Suddenly, I tried to put on a swimsuit, and I felt a sharp pain in my waist.

Since then, I haven't been able to perform breaststroke or butterfly movements, and I can't start either; I can only do freestyle and backstroke.

So, first I went to the Korean medicine clinic and received physical therapy for about five days, and my husband kept nagging and told me to go to an orthopedic clinic,ㅠㅠ.

I went to the orthopedic department, took medication, and received physical therapy, and I improved a lot.

You have insurance, right? This is what the orthopedic surgeon is saying.

There are some treatments that heal quickly and are expensive; they said personal insurance covers them. ㅡㅡ; Isn't it better to tell me what kind of treatment it is first? ㅎ

So I decided to get general physical therapy, but I have to see the doctor first, so the physical therapy cost is 20,000 won... The medication, I took it three times a day, but they told me to take it regularly and if it doesn't hurt much, just take it once or twice, something like that.

So I changed to the hospital in front of my house~

There are two doctors, but only one has many patients, haha. Why is it that the one with more patients is considered better? I asked to be assigned there, but they said it's not like that; the pain medicine department and the orthopedic surgery are separate, with the pain medicine department handling the back pain and the rest the orthopedic surgery. They then assigned me to the pain medicine department, which has fewer patients waiting.

The doctor here is amazing!

First of all, it's rarely a herniated disc; the term "disc stenosis" also does not exist.

Show me how to read an X-ray of a neck photo and a waist photo. After looking at mine, they said it was inflammation.

If it's a herniated disc, like me, you can't walk in the same way, and people really walk strangely.

He said it was a typical disc symptom, and he found it funny... He is talking about the characteristics of doctors who try to rip off money.

Most of the doctors, you know, haha.

It seems that the initial consultation took about 30 minutes here. The doctor examined my body in detail, checked my posture from different angles, and I was asked to lie down, sit up, and raise my legs, among other things. At the previous hospital, they prescribed 4 to 5 medications, but here they only prescribed two pills to be taken three times a day.

Inflammation can be managed with consistent physical therapy and medication.

There isn't much physical therapy done, which was a bit disappointing, but I think other places have about 5 to 6 different types.

Here, they do hot packs as a basic treatment from start to finish, then they do a session with ultrasound or something similar without any sensation, and there is a massage device on the bed to massage while applying the hot pack. They also do low-frequency therapy, and that's how it seems to end.

But here, I also need to see the doctor and receive physical therapy.

When I first went, excluding the initial consultation fee, the physical therapy and treatment costs were 5,500 won lol. It's really different from private hospitals that charge over 20,000 won.

The private hospital's consultation fee is only 12,000 won, you know. Did they get it for free? I'm getting my insurance premiums refunded, so why are they trying to make money with that...

Ugh... For this kind of inflammation, it usually takes at least 3 weeks. It's been about 3 weeks now, and I've improved a lot.

And swimming is not a good exercise for your back ㅠㅠ

I agree too, haha

The reason I say swimming is good is because I don't know how to swim.

You just know how to move your arms and legs... This teacher was also in the advanced swimming class himself... so he doesn't answer well.

It's my fortune, but I said ㅠㅠ, and they told me to walk a lot.

They say walking is the best.

My back has improved a lot now, so I plan to go swimming. I can't live without it.

They say walking is the best for back pain, but my shoes are terrible!!

They told me to wear sneakers. Haha

I walk a lot, but lately I've been walking in slippers. When I go to the hospital, I wear proper shoes, but I found that it's not very good for my back.

People with back pain, do not assume it's always a herniated disc; carefully examine the X-ray, and they say an MRI is necessary to confirm a disc issue.

And~~~~ since walking is good, have a healthy back life.

Back pain decreases the quality of life.

This is a review of visiting three different hospitals after being diagnosed with a herniated disc in orthopedics, ultimately leading to an inflammation diagnosis.
