I am being treated for severe wrist numbness.

There are many causes of numbness in the hands and feet. My wrist numbness is particularly severe, so I'm trying various treatments to see if it can improve even a little. So, I thought I'd share my personal management methods.

Numbness in the wrist can be caused by poor blood circulation, a vitamin B deficiency, a tingling pain when the nerves are compressed, such as with tendonitis, or thyroid problems.

 

In my case, I have hay fever, and on bad days, I wake up from sleep because of numbness in my wrist.

 

If you use your wrist repeatedly, it may cause inflammation or swelling.

The median nerve can be compressed, causing numbness or pain in the fingers. Stretching can help loosen the tense nerves and muscles. Above all, it's important to do it gently, without causing pain.

 

🍃Nerve Stretching to Relieve Wrist Numbness

 

1. Median nerve stretching

 

*Median nerve: refers to the area from the first finger to the inside of the fourth finger

 

After lowering your shoulders sufficiently, extend your arms out to the sides at a 90-degree angle, palms facing up.

Repeat the movement of bending your wrist and returning it 10 times. When bending your wrist, slightly turn your head to the opposite side to improve the stretching effect.

After 10 reps, lightly shake your shoulders and hands, and repeat 10 times x 3 sets.

 

2. ulnar nerve stretching

 

Place one hand at your side like a Batman pose, bend your shoulder at a 90-degree angle, and tilt your head back.

At this time, you may feel a pulling or numb feeling in your 4th or 5th fingers.

After 10 reps, release your hands and shoulders and repeat 10 reps x 3 sets.

 

🍃I'm also managing my eating habits to alleviate wrist numbness. Blue-backed fish like salmon and mackerel help maintain vascular health, while vegetables and fruits like strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, and spinach help with blood circulation through their antioxidant properties.

I regularly eat olive oil and almonds, which are rich in vitamin E, and I try to reduce fast food, salty foods, snacks, and sugary drinks as much as possible.

 

I am trying to reduce the numbness in my wrists by doing aerobic exercise such as walking for more than 30 minutes a day, strength training such as squats once or twice a week, and stretching before bed to gently loosen up my body.

 

🍃I'm slowly changing my lifestyle to reduce the numbness in my wrists. When it's cold, blood vessels constrict, which can impair circulation, so I keep my body warm and take foot baths or half-body baths to relax my muscles.

Lack of sleep can also affect circulation, so I'm trying to make sure I get enough sleep.

I am consistently taking Omega 3, which is said to help with blood circulation, and I am also taking a vitamin B complex, which mainly contains vitamins B1 and B12, to manage my condition.
