I'm sharing my experience treating stiff neck pain and my recovery process!
Recently, I began receiving treatment for neck pain because the stiffness and heaviness in the back of my neck had worsened. Because I usually used a high pillow, my neck would feel stiff when I woke up in the morning, and my muscles would often tense up during my daily life, causing significant discomfort. I heard that neck pain treatment could improve my symptoms, so I decided to visit the hospital.
During the treatment, I first underwent a medical history and palpation examination to determine the exact cause. The doctor explained that prolonged use of a high pillow had strained my cervical spine, worsening muscle tension and neck pain. Accordingly, he decided to combine physical therapy and medication to treat my neck pain. The physical therapy involved warm heat and electrical stimulation to relax tense muscles, while the medication was effective in reducing inflammation and pain.
During the treatment, I realized the importance of treating neck pain. I had thought I could simply endure the stiffness and live with it, but when I heard that leaving muscle tension untreated could lead to chronic pain, I resolved to take a more proactive approach. Indeed, after several sessions, the stiffness in my neck gradually eased, and I felt my muscles become more supple.
However, to maintain the long-term effects of the treatment for neck pain, lifestyle changes were essential. The doctor advised me to replace my high pillow with a low, neck-supporting one, avoid staying in one position for long periods of time, and stretch frequently. He also emphasized the need to be careful, as lifting heavy objects or maintaining poor posture can worsen symptoms.
Comparing the before and after treatment, my daily life has definitely become easier. Previously, I suffered from severe stiffness and pain after sitting for long periods or upon waking from sleep, but after treatment for neck pain, those symptoms have significantly decreased. In particular, the relief of muscle tension has improved my concentration and quality of life.
I believe that treating neck pain goes beyond simply providing temporary relief; it's an important step toward a healthy lifestyle.
