Sharing my experience with shoulder muscle pain treatment.

Treating shoulder muscle pain should not be approached with the simple idea that applying a patch and resting for a few days will resolve it, as this can actually worsen the symptoms. Initially, I only felt a stiff shoulder after waking up, but over time, I experienced severe pain when lifting my arm or putting on clothes. After visiting the hospital for a diagnosis, I was told I had myofascial pain syndrome along with early signs of rotator cuff tendinitis, and I began proper treatment for shoulder muscle pain.

Treatment for shoulder muscle pain involved a combination of medication, physical therapy, and manual therapy, and especially emphasized proper posture and stretching. The doctor also said that treating shoulder muscle pain is not just about suppressing the pain, but finding and addressing the root cause of the pain.

I also worked on posture correction, and I was told that habits such as looking at a smartphone for long periods or sitting at a desk for extended times could be the cause.

Since shoulder muscle pain does not improve overnight, consistent management was necessary. Pushing too hard even when feeling a little better caused the pain to recur, so caution was needed. During treatment for shoulder muscle pain, strenuous exercise was prohibited, and light joint rotation exercises and maintaining proper posture were much more helpful.

The most important thing is to start treatment early.

If pain is left untreated for a long time, it can lead to frozen shoulder or rotator cuff tears, so it is important to respond quickly and not ignore even mild shoulder muscle pain.
