Sharing symptoms of a herniated disc and my personal experience.
Hello. I had symptoms of a herniated disc and received a diagnosis of a disc herniation, undergoing treatment for several months. I would like to share my experience of the significant discomfort and pain caused by the herniated disc symptoms. I realized how important the waist, which is the center of the body, truly is.
Last year, I sprained my back while using public transportation. When you sprain your back unexpectedly, your body becomes stiff and you can't do anything... I think some of you might know what that feels like... I couldn't move at that moment, and my body trembled for a few minutes, and I started to cry~
Since then, I received acupuncture several times at a local Korean medicine clinic, but there was no improvement, and the pain worsened gradually. It became so difficult to sit even for a moment, and my legs felt extremely numb.
So, this isn't just a simple muscle surprise symptom... I thought it might be a herniated disc in the lower back. And after going to the hospital and getting an MRI, I was diagnosed with a herniated disc.
Lumbar disc herniation, also known as intervertebral disc protrusion, refers to the nucleus pulposus at the center of the disc breaking through the annulus fibrosus. And I have improved over a long period through acupuncture and non-surgical treatments due to symptoms of lumbar disc herniation.
These days, herniated discs in the lower back are said to improve more often with non-surgical treatments rather than surgery.
And to prevent and improve symptoms of a herniated disc, it is most important to strengthen the lower back muscles, so consistently doing appropriate exercises such as hiking, walking, and other gentle back exercises seems to be crucial.
Additionally, to reduce symptoms of a herniated disc, I consistently apply warm compresses to my lower back daily to help relax the muscles. I also find that continuous lower back massages help alleviate the symptoms of the herniated disc.
The symptoms of a herniated disc can vary from person to person, but I believe the pain is equally severe. I hope everyone works on strengthening their back and maintains a healthy lifestyle to improve herniated disc symptoms!
