A review of receiving medical treatment and consultation for tinnitus.
Experiencing tinnitus from a very young age was a natural part of my daily life.
It was a little bit funny to my young mind, and I didn't feel much inconvenience in living, so I didn't think about seeking treatment.
I found out that I have tinnitus and received consultation, but since it doesn't bother me much, I don't seek treatment and just live with it.
I have had this condition since I was quite young, but I didn't really think of it as a disease. I just experienced the symptoms briefly and then moved on, so I didn't pay much attention to it. However, among people who have similar symptoms, many experience significant discomfort and find it difficult. In my case, tinnitus isn't a major problem, so I continue to live my life normally. When I didn't fully understand what it was, I visited the hospital for a simple examination and consultation. That was when I first learned that it was tinnitus and also discovered that there are treatments available. Of course, the doctor who consulted me at that time mentioned that tinnitus can be treated surgically or with medication, but since I didn't have much inconvenience in my daily life and could endure it, I thought it was okay to just let it be naturally. So, I didn't undergo any special treatment. My tinnitus symptoms are just occasional, a brief ringing sound that lasts a few seconds when the surroundings become very quiet, and then it disappears. This level of tinnitus isn't a big problem for me. Moreover, the tinnitus doesn't occur very often—it's not even once a month, maybe a few times a year at most—so I just live with it as it is. I don't know what I would have done if the doctor had recommended treatment back then, but since I was told I could just live with it, I did. It didn't cause me much discomfort. I think people who find it very bothersome should consider consulting a doctor and getting treatment.
