저도 코세척 열심히 하고있는데 목으로 한번 해봐야겠어요
This summer, I caught a sore throat and am suffering from post-nasal drip...ㅠㅠ
Postnasal drip syndrome refers to the abnormal secretion from the nasal cavity or sinuses that drips down the back of the throat, causing respiratory symptoms such as cough, phlegm, and runny nose.
Healthy individuals typically produce about 1 liter of mucus daily in the nasal cavity, the empty space inside the nose. This mucus helps to adjust the temperature and humidity of the external air entering through the nose.
When mucus is normal, there are no particular symptoms, but when the mucus becomes sticky, or the amount of mucus increases, or when mucus cannot flow properly, post-nasal drip syndrome occurs.
The main symptoms of post-nasal drip syndrome are post-nasal drip and cough. Because of the sensation of a foreign body in the throat, frequent dry coughing or hacking coughs may occur.
Causes of post-nasal drip and cough
Increase in nasal mucus inside the nose
When nasal mucus inside the nose becomes sticky
When nasal mucus inside the nose does not drain
Lately, I’ve been struggling so much because of a sticky feeling behind my nostrils and between my throat..😭 People who haven't experienced it will never understand.. That strange, sticky sensation deep inside meㅠㅠ
To effectively clear post-nasal drip phlegm, maintaining proper indoor humidity, ventilating the room, and drinking water frequently are helpful. I am using the methods recommended by an ENT specialist in the past. The usual nasal irrigation method is as follows haha
I use a method where I put cleaning solution into a portable container, insert it into my nostril, inhale, and then spit it out through my throat into my mouth.🫢
1. For post-nasal drip symptoms, instead of tilting your head down and inhaling saline solution through one nostril and letting it drain out the other, you should let it come out through your throat and spit it out.
2. Prepare cleaning solution using saline stored at room temperature or powder.
3. The more often you do it, the better.
It's more difficult to do frequently than I thought, and when I have symptoms, I also rinse my nose while brushing my teeth in the morning. When it's severe, I experience large yellow chunks coming out when I spit. Haha, it's dirty but refreshing...
