Self-check six items for sudden dizziness caused by Ménière's disease
I would like to share my experience of suddenly experiencing dizziness, wandering around here and there, and eventually being diagnosed with Meniere's disease.
I'll leave information about what kind of disease Ménière's disease is, its symptoms, and prevention methods, so if you experience dizziness, please check it out.
Ménière's disease is a condition characterized by sudden and recurrent symptoms such as dizziness, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, and a feeling of fullness in the ear.
Based on my experience, one day the pedestrian signal suddenly changed, and I ran across, but I started feeling dizzy.
At first, this dizziness came on very strongly, and since it was at a crosswalk, I was worried, so I went straight to the ENT clinic. The doctor told me to follow his finger with my eyes, and I did, but it turns out I don't have benign paroxysmal positional vertigo!! Since I have no symptoms now, come back when you do!!
After a few days, the dizziness returned, but the symptoms did not last long. So, I found it difficult to follow the advice to come back when symptoms occur, and I took it lightly. However, the condition gradually worsened, and I started to hear a ringing in my ears.
Perhaps the hospital was just unlucky, as there are no specific abnormal findings. The tinnitus may be due to stress and will naturally disappear. Since dizziness and tinnitus do not occur simultaneously, another hospital's diagnosis suggests that they are probably unrelated.ㅠㅠ
Eventually, after going around here and there, I was finally diagnosed with Meniere's disease.
After receiving the diagnosis and researching Meniere's disease, it seems that diagnosing it is not particularly difficult. However, I guess I was just unlucky, as it was quite challenging to get diagnosed with Meniere's disease until the end.ㅠㅠ
The exact cause of Meniere's disease has not been determined.
It is said that the cause is the accumulation of liquid within the labyrinth of the inner ear, leading to pressure changes.
Fortunately, my symptoms of Meniere's disease were not severe, and I recovered through medication treatment.
I stay in hyper-alert mode even with just a little dizziness at the back.
Please note that if you experience dizziness due to the reasons listed below, you must seek treatment, so be sure to try the self-test once.
I feel dizzy when I wake up in the morning.
- Feeling dizzy when bowing my head or looking up
- Suddenly, I feel like my surroundings are spinning while walking.
I feel nausea, dizziness, and a pounding sensation.
I feel dizzy and my ears are also clogged.
- I often stumble because I can't stabilize my body's center properly.
It seems that all diseases should not be nurtured. Let's not ignore even small symptoms.
