A review of changing eating and lifestyle habits and treatment after symptoms of Meniere's disease appeared
About three years ago, one day suddenly the world in front of my eyes started spinning.
It feels as if everything is distorted.
I fell down because I couldn't maintain my body's balance.
I went to the hospital and had a CT scan, but the results said it was symptoms of Meniere's disease.
So I have been getting medication from the hospital for a few months.
After searching various things for quick treatment
I think the treatment was successful because I also changed my eating habits and lifestyle.
Actually, there were some warning signs before the symptoms of Meniere's disease worsened.
I occasionally experienced slight hearing loss and tinnitus.
There were also slight symptoms of dizziness and vomiting.
It would have been better if I had gone to the hospital sooner back then.
After repeatedly delaying, I finally went to the hospital only after everything was spinning in front of my eyes and I collapsed.
I took medication containing betahistine, a treatment for Meniere's disease, at the hospital for several months, but
Since it doesn't seem to be getting better quickly, I looked into Meniere's disease.
One of the causes of Meniere's disease is the accumulation of sodium in the body.
It is said that it can occur due to conditions such as general metabolic disorders or hypothyroidism.
Other causes of Meniere's disease are also beyond my control.
I have decided to change my eating habits by reducing sodium intake.
First, it is impossible not to consume sodium.
We decided to minimize the use of salt as much as possible and to use low-sodium soy sauce instead.
Among low-sodium soy sauces, the most famous one is Kikkoman low-sodium soy sauce.
I bought low-sodium soy sauce and tried to use it as little as possible to maintain a low-sodium diet.
And upon looking into it, I found that there are foods that are effective in helping our body eliminate salt.
This is asparagus. Asparagus acts as a natural diuretic, so
It helps to eliminate unnecessary water and salt from our body.
So, I often grilled asparagus and also made salads with it.
In addition, since alcohol, coffee, and cigarettes are said to be bad for Meniere's disease, I also stopped drinking the coffee I used to enjoy so much.
Sometimes I stop drinking alcohol I used to drink. And actually, this could be the cause of all illnesses as well.
Stress and lack of sleep are also said to be bad for Meniere's disease.
So, to reduce stress, I often took walks and went light hiking on weekends.
I always tried to sleep at least 7 hours a day, no matter what happened.
So, while getting medication at the hospital and taking it, I personally changed my eating habits and lifestyle.
The symptoms of Meniere's disease gradually weakened, and after about a year, they almost disappeared.
Now, I plan to continue managing my health so that Ménière's disease does not recur.
Having experienced Ménière's disease once, I realized the importance of health management and the value of good health.
