It was really difficult to find information when I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease. So, I want to share my treatment experience and introduce seven effective methods I tried to alleviate my symptoms. I have listed everyday methods such as a low-salt diet and regular exercise, so if you have the same condition, please try them and I hope you achieve a full recovery through Meniere's disease treatment!
Firstly, a low-sodium diet was very helpful in treating Meniere's disease. Reducing salty foods and consuming plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables is important because it helps maintain the body's fluid balance and reduces pressure in the inner ear! So, I tried to keep my daily salt intake below 1500mg, and as a result, my dizziness and tinnitus symptoms significantly decreased.

After exercising, dizziness was lessened, and overall health improved, so I did low-impact exercises at home while watching YouTube every day!
Third, sufficient sleep is essential for the treatment and symptom relief of Meniere's disease!!! I used to have an irregular daily routine, and I started to feel that my symptoms worsened due to lack of sleep... So, I am trying to maintain a regular sleep pattern by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day. Since I started getting enough sleep of 7-8 hours, I have felt that my symptoms are alleviating.
Fourth, stress management is really important. As everyone knows, stress is the root of many illnesses and one of the main causes that worsens Ménière's disease symptoms! When I felt that my inner ear pressure was rising due to stress, I managed my stress through meditation and deep breathing exercises. Additionally, I tried various hobbies to find mental relaxation!
Fifth, it is good to maintain proper hydration. I tried to drink at least 2 liters of water a day to keep the body's fluid balance. Caffeine and alcohol can dehydrate the body and worsen symptoms, so it's best to avoid them ㅠㅠ... I used to be a caffeine lover, but since I stopped drinking coffee, I definitely feel that my symptoms have improved.
Sixth, I tried to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet. I looked for cooking recipes to keep my meals rich in vitamins and minerals, and I prepared lunchboxes every day. In particular, foods high in B vitamins and magnesium are helpful in treating Meniere's disease!
Finally, make sure to regularly visit an otolaryngologist for continuous professional care. Consult with a specialist to find the most suitable treatment method for you! I have seen cases where symptoms improve and people delay visiting the hospital, only for the condition to worsen, so I make sure to visit regularly to monitor my progress. I manage my symptoms by combining medication with the methods mentioned above.
