Genuine hospital review, let's trust the doctor for only 3 days.. Busan BHS Hanseo Hospital Thoracic Surgery
I am someone who almost bid farewell to the world by blindly trusting doctors' words.
Looking at the documents now, it seems to be about the peak of COVID two years ago.
Symptoms
There is no significant collision or cause of impact, and the inner left rib area shows no abnormalities that interfere with daytime activities. However, when trying to sleep and lying down, I experience pain so severe that it feels like I can't breathe, and I toss and turn by turning to the left and right until morning. This has been happening for several days.
Primary treatment process
There is a university hospital nearby, but since too many COVID-19 patients come and go, I felt uneasy, so I first visited a general internal medicine clinic.
The internal medicine doctor said that after taking an X-ray, they couldn't make a diagnosis from it and suggested that I go somewhere to get a CT scan.
Reluctantly, I waited for an hour in the university hospital waiting room, and the reception desk told me that the current CT appointment is scheduled for about a month later, and only then can it be done (asking a patient in such pain to come back in a month?!~~~!)
Since there was no alternative, I visited a fairly large orthopedic clinic in the nearby medical building, and I was able to receive treatment.
They asked to take the X-ray again, so I did!!
When explaining the results, I said, "Patient, there are no issues with your bones, and it seems there are no problems with your muscles, so you've heard of gallbladder, right?"
"Since that's correct (not just I think it's correct, but it actually is), take a week's worth of medication and let's see what happens afterward."
Here, they are giving me a prescription~!! (Can you see? Rib contusion and strain S2340 - It's a bit annoying, but mentioning the hospital name feels a bit much)
Confidently speaking, I trusted the doctor and took the medication, but it seems to be getting worse and there is no improvement.
Despite feeling very sick, I told myself to see the doctor again in a week, so I went back to the hospital to meet the doctor (since my medication ran out)~~
When I heard the words face-to-face again, he said, "My judgment is correct, so trust me and eat a little more," and he gave me another week's worth.
The pain is getting worse as time goes by.
Preparation for the event.
The pain at night was so severe that I couldn't bear it, so I called 1339 and asked for a place nearby to get a CT scan. They directed me to Bumin Hospital and provided the contact information.
After making a reservation by phone and going there, they told me that their hospital doesn't have a respiratory department and directed me to Hanseo Hospital where it is available~~~ (Respiratory departments are so rare)
I called there.. They said a CT scan is available.
Oh no...
When I went to Hanseo Hospital to register, they said I had a high fever and it could be COVID-19, so they refused to see me and told me to go to the public health center for a PCR test and bring back the results.
Reluctantly, I went to the health center. Got tested, received a negative result the next day, and successfully completed the CT scan.
After the scan, I met with the pulmonologist...ㅠ..ㅠ~!
Your first words as a doctor were, "The pain must have been beyond imagination all this time, so why did you make the illness worse and come here?"
Instead of thinking about something else, I will contact the inpatient room. Don't go home, stay hospitalized immediately~!!..
The cause is an inflammation in the lung measuring 7 centimeters (the third largest among the inflammations he has seen), and it is not surprising at all that he suddenly passed away from respiratory distress while sleeping.
Since the lungs have no nerves, they don't feel any pain at all. The patient is luckily (?) lucky??? The inflammation in the lungs was so severe that it spread to the ribs' flesh and muscles, causing inflammation, and when lying down, pressure on the lungs causes pain, so the doctor prescribed treatment accordingly... Oh my... During the period of receiving treatment as directed by the orthopedic surgeon, the inflammation grew so large that it became untreatable (misdiagnosed as gallbladder inflammation...).
They expect to reduce the inflammation size over about a month and then remove it after surgery.
He doesn't usually share deep conversations with me, but he called the accompanying guardian and said that if they had delayed for just 2 to 3 more days, the patient might have passed away peacefully in sleep. He also explained that it was a miracle the patient was able to walk into this hospital in that state, and he provided details about blood test results. (I don't know the medical terms, but he mentioned that the patient had about five COVID infections, and the patient's blood count was over 2,500.)
Aha~~~
Fortunately, I was able to meet such a high-quality doctor, and after being discharged on the 16th, I received outpatient treatment without any issues and regained my health, so I am writing this.

I am very grateful to Dr. Byun Ki-seop. He is quite gentle, but his medical skills are unmatched.
The message I want to convey (conclusion)
I really want to tell you to trust the doctor's advice for only three days.
Doctors are also human, so they can make mistakes.
After 3 to 7 days of treatment without improvement, it is advisable to consider alternative approaches, as explained by another physician.
It is necessary to receive an accurate diagnosis early in the course of the illness, and if there is no improvement after a certain period during the diagnostic process, one should also consider the possibility of other areas or conditions.
Another thing to keep in mind... Doctors base their prescriptions not only on examination records but also on the actions and words of the patient. Don't rely solely on the doctor; you should take an interest yourself and learn about the causes and detailed aspects of your symptoms.
I cannot help but trust the doctor's words, but I am writing this to warn that blindly believing without thinking can also be dangerous.
This is the conclusion.
The weather is nice, let's take a walk and take care of our health~~
