I have been taking medication for chronic rhinitis for about 20 years.
It started to develop as my skeletal structure began to grow in my teens.
Deviated nasal septum is simply when the bone inside the nose is crooked, making one side narrower.
The nasal cavity space is uneven.
Naver description: Septal deviation is a condition where the nasal septum, which is positioned vertically in the center of the nose and divides the nostrils into two, is deviated.
It refers to cases where a deviated nasal septum causes symptoms related to the nose or leads to functional impairments such as nasal congestion or sinusitis.
The related conditions include hypertrophy of the nasal turbinates, rhinitis, sinusitis, epistaxis, and nasal congestion.
Hospitals in our country cannot have doctors sit with patients for a long time and explain because of the fee system.
By luck, I met a doctor who explained carefully, or else
You have no choice but to search persistently and ask questions yourself. Once you reach a certain level of understanding,
You can discuss and adjust based on the doctor and symptoms.
Doctors can better treat and care for patients who are well aware of and can clearly explain their own health condition.
Doctors are not gods.
Our management method for 20 years is as follows.
First of all, this is how we should carry the mindset forward.
1. Never rely solely on personal judgment or trust information from the internet.
2. Information related to medicine or pharmacy can be found on hospital websites such as Seoul National University Hospital and Asan Medical Center.
It is absolutely not accurate unless it comes from a reputable organization such as the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety or other authoritative agencies.
3. Procedures and claims of being good for certain conditions are all marketing.
If there is an exact cure, rumors that it is good for ~ do not even occur.
For example) To lose weight, eat less and move more.
4. The more chronic immune-related conditions like allergies you have, the more often you need to see a doctor. Doing other things will only worsen the condition.
Of course, it also costs more.
Lifestyle habits are now the most important.
Below is a lifestyle habit I have maintained for 20 years. Even now, my nose is blocked every day.
I breathe easily through my nose while managing without surgery.
1. Stress levels are maintained at a similar level. Whether feeling too relaxed or too overwhelmed, the inflammatory response appears similarly.
Swelling of the mucous membrane > Nasal congestion
2. During seasonal changes, maintaining humidity is important > Use both humidifiers and dehumidifiers.
3. You can drink water while observing the color of your urine. 1L-3L
4. Consistently take multivitamins (recommended alive products) + omega-3.
You may add 1-2 different supplements if necessary, but it is not good for the liver.
5. Eat a balanced diet and reduce sugar intake. Salt intake should not be excessive. Eating a variety of foods is important.
6. Maintain a steady breathing pattern by consistently running (heart rate 130-150). (Run steadily for at least 20 minutes every day)
7. Change the medication being taken to find the right one.
In my case, I experienced excessive drowsiness from antihistamines, so I alternated between second and third-generation medications.
8. In cases of allergic rhinitis with frequent sneezing, always keep a mask available. This is because the mucous membranes become more sensitive.
9. Carry a soft, thin cotton handkerchief with you. (In case of a continuous runny nose due to rhinitis)
Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., sun exposure lasts for more than 15 minutes.
Develop the habit of taking a walk about 30 minutes after meals.
Most important
12. Nasal congestion symptoms cannot be resolved with home remedies. Be sure to visit the hospital and obtain a 3-4 day or 7-day supply of medication.
Prescription sprays provided to the hospital need to be used for more than a month to see effects and do not cause resistance.
Severe nasal congestion that prevents sleep is worse for your health. Using over-the-counter spray for about 2-3 days is not a problem.
Don't have too many prejudices about Western medicine, and live flexibly while managing your symptoms.
You can manage and live without problems for a long time, just like me :) That is all.
