Causes of Foreign Body Sensation in the Throat, Symptoms of Tonsil Stones, and Removal Experience

I visited the ENT clinic because I felt a foreign body sensation in my throat.

It was the first time I developed tonsil stones.

Tonsil stones were immediately removed at the ENT clinic.

The stone was removed cleanly without pain.

I thought I might have developed stomatitis because I wasn't feeling well, but I figured it would get better after a couple of days, so I just left it alone.

Well, what a surprise...

Even after three days, it didn't go away; in fact, it remained the same, and when I looked in the mirror, I saw something white far back in my throat.

And my throat was so sore, as if I had caught a cold.

 

When I went to the ENT clinic, the doctor examined me with a nasal endoscope and immediately diagnosed it as tonsil stones.

It turns out that the symptoms of tonsil stones are a sensation of a foreign body in the throat, white lumps on the tonsils, and bad breath.

According to my family, they couldn't smell any bad breath, and I had only heard of tonsil stones but had never experienced them myself, so I couldn't have predicted that the symptoms were due to tonsil stones.

In simple terms

 

After applying disinfectant before removal, I used tweezers to remove it in just 3 seconds!!

I didn't feel any pain at all, and fortunately, there was only one, so the treatment was completed in an instant.

I think the cost was around ten thousand won.

 

Even if you feel a foreign object in your throat, many people don't notice because their tonsils are not easily visible, but the sensation itself can be a symptom of tonsil stones.

Additionally, if the symptoms I listed appear, it would be good to consider the possibility of tonsil stones.

 

Tonsil stones tend to recur once they form, and since there is a hole where the stones were removed, I was told to gargle to prevent food from getting stuck in that empty space.

So I bought a bottle of mouthwash at the pharmacy and used it.

 

According to the pharmacist, this gargle is also good for tonsillitis and stomatitis.

 

I was worried because recurrences tend to happen easily, but fortunately, there haven't been any recurrences so far.

So, the foreign body sensation and sore throat caused by tonsil stones also disappeared.

 

These days, I diligently rinse my throat thoroughly after brushing without using any special gargle products, and I am doing well without any stones. That was my experience with tonsil stones symptoms and removal.
