Order of symptoms for Type A flu! From high fever to cough, it really came this way

A few days ago, my fever suddenly spiked.
I was so exhausted with body aches and a headache 🥲
At first, I thought it was just a simple cold, but when I went to the hospital, they said I have type A influenza.
Today, I will organize the sequence of symptoms I experienced with type A flu, as well as the information I heard from those around me.
If you're wondering if it's for you too, I think it would be helpful to refer to this!

Type A flu has started! Suddenly, the fever has spiked.

The order of symptoms for type A flu, the first one was definitely 'high fever'.
Suddenly, my fever went over 39 degrees, and even taking antipyretics didn't help bring it down.
My whole body is aching, and my eyes hurt... It feels like a severe flu? The most surprising thing is that it comes on so suddenly, unlike a cold. I was perfectly fine until the morning, but my condition changed rapidly in the afternoon, and I was shocked.

🤒 Headache, muscle pain, fatigue... "You just need to lie down"

Order of symptoms for Type A flu! From high fever to cough, it really came this way

After the fever subsides, headaches, muscle aches, and an indescribable fatigue overwhelm me.
My body felt extremely heavy, and I couldn't do anything.
Honestly, it feels like "my body is not my own"... 😵‍💫
The core of the symptoms sequence that most people talk about for type A flu is this overall body symptom.
It's on a different level from a cold. The feeling of electricity flowing through the whole body...

Cough and runny nose appeared a little later.

After about 2 to 3 days of high fever and systemic symptoms
Symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and sore throat have started.
It doesn't come along from the beginning; it appears after the body ache subsides a bit.
But the problem is that the cough lasts a long time.
I still occasionally have a dry cough.
Some of the people with type A influenza at the hospital also have it.
They said that coughs can last from a few weeks to several months.

🦠 Which is more severe, type A or type B flu?

They also explained it to me at the hospital, but
Type A flu is highly contagious and mutates frequently, so it varies in prevalence each year.
It is said to be more dangerous because it can be transmitted not only to humans but also to animals such as pigs and poultry.

Type B influenza has relatively mild symptoms,
They said the contagiousness is also relatively slow, so you don't have to worry too much. The timing of the outbreak is different as well.

Type A: January to December
Type B: February to March

💊 Treatment? Tamiflu must be taken within 48 hours for effectiveness!

Immediately after being diagnosed with type A influenza, I was prescribed Tamiflu (Oseltamivir).
This needs to be taken within 48 hours to be effective.
It may be too late once the symptoms have worsened.
If you have a fever and severe headache, going to the hospital immediately is the right choice!
There are limitations with just antipyretics.
Taking antiviral medication + sufficient rest and hydration are key.

Vaccinations are essential! The viruses that circulate vary every year.

The really important thing is prevention.
I also got really affected this time because I didn't get the vaccine 😭
You need to get the flu vaccine every year.
Because the types of viruses that are prevalent change every year, you need to get vaccinated each time to be effective.
And basic daily living rules are also important.

Four lifestyle rules to prevent type A influenza

Avoid crowded places
2) Always wear a mask
3) Frequently wash hands
4) Don't overexert yourself if you're not feeling well!

✅ Summary: Sequence of Symptoms for Type A Flu!

Sudden high fever
2. General symptoms such as headache, muscle pain, and fatigue
3. Respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, etc.)
4. Recovery phase – cough persists only partially and for a long time

Type A flu that comes in the blink of an eye...
Don't just brush it off with "Oh, it's probably just a cold~,"
I strongly recommend visiting the hospital as soon as symptoms begin 🙏
