Symptoms of pharyngitis, such as a stinging and swollen throat,
You were wondering which medicine is effective, weren't you?
From the causes of pharyngitis to the types of treatments available at pharmacies
We provide detailed information, including user reviews.
Please note that this is a purely personal account.

hello!
Many of you have been feeling a stinging sensation and swelling in your throat lately, haven't you?
I've also been experiencing severe sore throat symptoms for the past few days, so I've been trying various things. I'd like to share a review of the sore throat medications and self-care methods that helped me 😊 Please note that this is based on my personal experience, so please use it only as a reference~
It may vary depending on your physical condition!
What is pharyngitis?
Simply put, pharyngitis is a condition where there is inflammation inside the throat.
They say it can occur from viral or bacterial infections, talking too much, or breathing in cold air.
I think I got it because I went around without a mask on a day when the weather suddenly turned cold.
Do you have symptoms of a sore throat?
My throat is stinging and itchy
Discomfort or pain when swallowing saliva
My voice feels cracked or hoarse when speaking
The inside of the throat is swollen and feels hot
I was especially in more pain at night, and when I got up after lying down, I felt a severe stinging sensation in my throat.
Causes of pharyngitis?
It turned out it wasn't just a simple cold.
From what I've looked up, pharyngitis isn't always caused by a cold:
dry indoor air
Fine dust, yellow dust (it's really bad these days…)
Viruses like the common cold and flu
bacterial infection
Reflux Esophagitis (Caution for those who like late-night snacks!)
I think it's probably because of the dry environment combined with coming on from a cold.
What kind of medicine is available for a sore throat? 4 types
When I went to the pharmacy, there was quite a wide variety of sore throat medicines.
Painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, troches, throat sprays, cough medicine, etc…
I had severe throat pain, so I took a spray and painkillers together.
1) Analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs: Relieves throat pain and fever
2) Troches, Sprays: Local soothing
3) Cough suppressants and expectorants: Relieve cough and phlegm
4) Antibiotics: Only when caused by a bacterial infection! You must get a prescription from a doctor.
Since sore throat medication should be selected based on symptoms, taking antibiotics indiscriminately is not recommended.
When it is viral, natural recovery is actually better!
Summary of my personal review of sore throat medicine!
1. Strepsil Troches (suckable pills)
💬 "Perfect for when it's hard to swallow!"
Because it contains an anti-inflammatory and analgesic ingredient called flurbiprofen
The throat pain subsides slightly after 10 to 20 minutes of sucking.
I ate it about three times a day, and it put almost no strain on my stomach.
It also feels less stinging because it moistens the mucous membranes of the throat!
2. Betadine Throat Spray (Spray Type)
💬 "It tastes a little metallic, but the sterilization effect is definitely effective!"
It's a disinfectant that you spray directly into your throat, so it was a bit of a shock at first 😂
However, it is really effective when used during severe swelling and pain.
The downside is that it doesn't taste very good, and it can stain clothes.
3. Mok & Spray (Menthol Scent)
💬 "Good for when your voice is hoarse~"
I tend to use it more when my voice is hoarse or dry than when I have a sore throat.
It has a menthol scent, so it is refreshing and not too irritating.
The effect is weak on days with severe pain, but it feels gently soothing!
The three items above are the sore throat medicines I bought at the pharmacy.
4 Other Helpful Self-Care Tips
1) Drink lukewarm water frequently
2) A humidifier is essential! If you don't have one, hang a wet towel.
3) Avoid hot and spicy foods
4) Keep mucous membranes moist with throat lozenges or lozenges
Actually, just drinking water all day plus turning on a humidifier is enough.
My neck pain decreased significantly. Sometimes it was even more effective than medicine!
What situations require a visit to the hospital?
When symptoms of a sore throat persist for more than one week
When accompanied by a high fever of 38 degrees or higher
When coughing or pain worsens despite proper care
I also went to the hospital a while ago, and they told me it was laryngitis caused by reflux esophagitis.
If you have a habit of lying down immediately after eating a late-night snack, you should definitely consider this possibility!
After finishing energy
Personally, I use Strepsils when I'm in a hurry.
Betadine spray when you want to disinfect
For daily care, use Mok &
Writing it like this was the best.
Since the weather puts a lot of strain on the neck these days
I hope everyone drinks warm water often and takes good care of their throats 🫶
