I often caught colds during seasonal changes or winter, which was very exhausting. So, I looked for effective ways to avoid colds and heard that boosting immunity is important. First, I consistently took red ginseng to prevent colds. Red ginseng is a representative immune-boosting food in our country, but I heard that some people may experience side effects from it. However, I found it beneficial because it kept my body warm and protected. I consumed solid-form red ginseng with a high content of ginsenosides. Therefore, I mainly took products like Jeonggwanjang Red Ginseng Extract or Red Ginseng Royal. I believe these have the highest ginsenoside content and are concentrated in red ginseng, making them effective for cold prevention.

Secondly, I consistently took a supplement containing shiitake mushrooms to prevent colds. The immune-boosting components of shiitake mushrooms are said to be beta-glucan and vitamin D. Beta-glucan activates cells that engulf viruses when they enter from outside, thus helping to prevent colds and alleviate symptoms. I took KINOKO Platinum AHCC, made in the United States. I chose it because of good reviews, and it helped boost my immunity and prevent colds. This product is a supplement made from shiitake mushroom mycelium extract, and it is said to have anti-cancer effects, enhance immunity, prevent human papillomavirus (HPV), and prevent cervical cancer, as well as help prevent colds. Additionally, I boiled water with shiitake mushrooms or bought organic shiitake mushroom powder and added it to my food regularly.

So, I tried to boost my immunity to prevent colds. I continuously took supplements with red ginseng and shiitake mushroom extract, which were effective in preventing colds.
