I am a bit older and would like to undergo orthodontic treatment before it's too late, so I have a few questions. I read online reviews and blog posts from hospitals that mention there is pain in the early stages of orthodontic treatment. Since my job involves a lot of speaking in the education field, is it okay to speak frequently right after getting braces? Also, I am curious if I need to be careful until the braces settle in, or if there is a risk of injuring the inside of my mouth or causing sores where the braces touch. Additionally, I heard that pregnancy during orthodontic treatment is not a big problem, but I wonder if there is a risk of damaging the braces or teeth when giving birth, such as biting down hard or exerting force. I also heard that some women experience gum problems after childbirth; in such cases, is there a risk that the orthodontic treatment could go wrong or that the gums and teeth could worsen? I wish I had started treatment when I was younger, but since I am doing it later, I have many concerns.
