Clippy correction, less noticeable on the eyes and faster tooth movement

Clippy-C correction is a method of orthodontics that uses ceramic brackets similar in color to teeth instead of traditional metal appliances, making it less noticeable. When undergoing Clippy-C orthodontics, self-ligating brackets made of transparent ceramic are attached to the teeth. Self-ligating brackets are devices that fix the wire by opening and closing a cap without using separate wires. Since they do not use rubber rings or wires, they cause relatively less pain. Additionally, due to reduced friction, tooth movement occurs more quickly, shortening the orthodontic period. There is no need for the tedious process of tying wires with elastic or metal ligatures, making the treatment simpler. However, even if the brackets are similar in color to teeth, the wire parts are still visible. Also, since braces are attached, there is an unavoidable increase in the risk of gum inflammation and cavities. Therefore, thorough care is required to prevent plaque buildup around the device.

Lingual orthodontics, attached to the inside of the teeth, is completely invisible.

Lingual orthodontics is a method of attaching brackets inside the teeth, unlike conventional orthodontics that place devices on the outside of the teeth. Since the device is located inside, it is not visible from the front at all. However, the treatment period may be longer than with regular orthodontics. Because the brackets are attached to the uneven inner surface of the teeth, they can gradually become misaligned, which may extend the overall treatment time during adjustments. Additionally, the intraoral device can interfere with tongue movement, leading to speech inaccuracies. If you have lingual braces, it is advisable to practice speaking regularly, even if it feels awkward. Of course, recently, thinner orthodontic devices that occupy less space inside the mouth have been developed to alleviate these inconveniences.

Transparent braces can be completely removed during meals and brushing.

Unlike the previous two orthodontic methods, transparent braces are removable and can be taken on and off freely. They are made of a special plastic device shaped like teeth that the patient inserts themselves. Using a clear tray, the teeth are corrected with almost no visible signs to the naked eye. There is no discomfort from wires poking the inside of the mouth or food getting caught during meals. Oral hygiene management, such as brushing and flossing, can be performed as before orthodontic treatment. Since the device is replaced according to a set schedule, the number of visits to the dentist can be reduced. However, because transparent braces are custom-made to fit each individual's teeth and treatment plan, the skill and experience of the medical staff in planning are very important. Also, even though they are removable, to achieve proper results, they must be worn for at least 20 hours a day, excluding during meals and brushing.
