(Helpful tip) Herniated disc patients, go for a walk.
I already had a severe herniated disc when I was a student, and I neglected it, leading to surgery in my 20s and another surgery in my 30s... I am still living with a herniated disc today.
It's not really a grand tip, but... I've been living as a herniated disc patient for over 20 years, listening to countless stories, gaining experience, and seeking out top doctors, so I think I've become almost half a doctor myself ^^;
First of all, to get to the conclusion... the most important thing! Walk~
If you are in severe pain, I recommend walking while managing the pain with an injection.
If you push yourself too hard with exercise when you're sick, it can rupture more severely and you'll regret it... I experienced that myself when a herniated disc burst near my leg nerves, causing numbness all the way to my toes.
Don't try to do too many different exercises!! Walking is the best. No matter which doctor you see or which hospital you go to, they will read my MRI and not recommend anything else. They just tell you to walk~ Walk and walk until you can endure it, and if it gets so painful that you can't stand it, then they suggest a third surgery^^;
However, as I walk, surprisingly, the pain gradually subsides~ Honestly, it doesn't really hurt.. but I can still endure it!!!
At first, I couldn't walk well on the street because the impact went straight to my waist. Following my doctor's recommendation, I started walking in the water during free swim time at the swimming pool, gradually increasing the time. Now, I can walk well on the street.
Along with walking, I want to mention one more thing: please avoid bending forward in the future to improve flexibility.ㅠㅠ
Trying to improve flexibility, I hurt my back..ㅠㅠ
When walking in the park, I see many elderly people bending forward and bowing their backs deeply... I really want to go and tell them to stop.
Once a back leaves home, it never comes back.
