Recovered health by early treatment of Parkinson's disease.
I was discharged after a stroke in 2016 and have been living my life, but I felt that my walking posture was abnormal. At first, I thought it was just a residual effect of the stroke and didn't pay much attention to it. However, as time went on, my movements in daily life became slower. Recalling a Parkinson's patient who was hospitalized with me at the rehabilitation hospital after the stroke, I thought my symptoms were similar. I discussed my symptoms with a stroke doctor and was referred to a Parkinson's specialist. The doctor’s diagnosis revealed that I was experiencing early symptoms of Parkinson's disease, which I had been afraid of. Parkinson's disease is the second most frightening illness after dementia, and it is a type of degenerative brain disease where dopamine-producing nerve cells gradually die. After hearing this explanation from the doctor, I realized how serious the disease was. Therefore, I received focused treatment for posture correction and paid particular attention to my slow movements and slight balance issues during daily activities. After six months of treatment, my tremors, muscle rigidity, postural instability, and movement disorders gradually improved. I was diagnosed as cured of Parkinson's disease, and now I am living well without any issues in my daily life. Like all diseases, I learned that early focus, quick identification of the cause, and prompt treatment tailored to the symptoms are the keys to a full recovery.
