Sharing my experience of early treatment for dyslexia.
I experienced symptoms similar to dyslexia after becoming an adult. I would like to share my hospital treatment experience related to dyslexia. I hope this will be helpful to those struggling with similar conditions.
Dyslexia is a condition characterized by difficulty in reading despite having normal vision and intelligence. The exact cause is not clear, and diagnostic criteria often vary, making diagnosis difficult. Usually, dyslexia occurs in young children like elementary school students and is often discovered by teachers or parents. In addition to reading difficulties, challenges can also be present in areas such as calculation and attention. However, I was not young; I became an adult before I experienced difficulty in properly reading books. To be precise, I had trouble seeing the characters. When I tried to look at the letters, stress and headaches became so severe that I naturally avoided them. For a while, I thought it would get better on its own, so I ignored it. But even as time passed, there was no improvement. Since it became so difficult to see the letters, I couldn't study properly, and my school grades were affected... I realized I needed treatment.
Since dyslexia is not a common illness, I didn't really know which hospital to go to.. At first, I visited the Department of Mental Health. I had a thorough consultation with the doctor, and after taking a medical history and interview, I was able to get a prescription. It took some time, but as I received treatment, I started to improve very gradually. Honestly, it was hard to talk about it with others, and since I appeared fine on the outside, I also had many internal struggles, but now my dyslexia symptoms have greatly improved.
If you are experiencing symptoms similar to dyslexia, please seek proper treatment.
