저도 한번 해보고 싶었는데요.. 어떻게 하는지 모르겠던데 어떻게 하는 걸까요
(Have you undergone genetic testing for dementia?)
Both of my grandmothers had dementia, and my mother also underwent brain hemorrhage surgery. I'm worried because dementia is said to have a family history.
Alzheimer's disease is the most common degenerative brain disorder that causes dementia, so I am also worried because there is a family history of brain disease.
Have you heard of genetic testing for dementia?
This is an APOE gene test. It is a blood test that analyzes the genotype. APOE is a protein that supplies cholesterol to the brain. Through this, we can determine the form of the APO E gene that an individual possesses.
There are three different forms of genes: E2, E3, and E4. Each form represents an individual's genetic makeup, and these forms are being studied for their potential association with Alzheimer's disease.
In particular, there is research indicating that individuals with the E4 form may have a higher risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
This is a test to see if there are many E4 genes through testing.
I've heard for a long time that it's possible to perform dementia tests.
I think if I know, I might be able to prepare somehow.
I'm unsure whether I should get tested.
I want to know how much the test will cost.
If anyone has received it
Thank you in advance for letting me know.
