Symptoms of migraines and lifestyle habits that helped overcome them
I am going to talk about migraines. I will discuss the symptoms and management of migraines that I experienced due to excessive stress.
I rarely experienced even general headaches, so I don't actually remember ever saying that I had a headache. I had no memory of feeling that my head was hurting. However, after several years of experiencing excessive stress, I suddenly developed migraines.
A persistent headache consistently appeared on one side of my head, and it was more than just a simple throbbing sensation; it was a severe pain. Sometimes, it was so intense that I felt nauseous and vomited. After discussing with a pharmacy and a hospital, I was told that excessive stress can trigger migraines.
At first, I tried taking Tylenol and other painkillers to relieve the sudden pain that came and went. However, since it was different from regular headaches, they said it doesn't always produce good results.
The hospital said that migraines caused by severe stress, like mine, can be effectively alleviated through psychological treatment and improvements in lifestyle habits.
So I acknowledged the stressful situation and tried not to think negatively only. To stay positive and clear my mind, I read many books that helped calm my mind at that time. I also stopped eating spicy foods and completely cut out instant foods. Since a balanced diet is important, I chose to prepare and eat a well-balanced meal myself instead of ordering delivery food.
Since migraines become more severe when chronic, I decided to make bold lifestyle changes to manage stress, and I think it was effective. I believe that migraines caused by extreme stress will definitely improve if psychological therapy is combined with lifestyle improvements.
