시술에 대한 설명을 듣고 동의여부를 물으셨으면 좋았을텐데..옛날분이라 옛날식으로 그냥하신거같네요
I dislike medical procedures without any explanation or consent. <Ansan Goryeo Neurosurgery Clinic> Ankle sprain IMS procedure review
In the past, I didn't notice my small chin and accidentally twisted my ankle.
I have been electrocuted before. It didn't hurt much, so I just left it alone, but two days later, it suddenly hurt a lot.
The only place I could go quickly to work was the neurosurgery department.
I visited the Goryeo Neurosurgery Clinic in Gojan-dong, Ansan.
The director has been practicing there for over 30 years.
You still record notes by hand on the medical charts using an analog method.
After taking the X-ray and entering the consultation room, I told the doctor about the painful area.
He told me to lie down on the bed and said, "I'll make you feel better."
They did this, and suddenly they started inserting needles into my leg with a needle.
It was extremely painful and agonizing.
I'm not sure how it is, but I also don't go to the Korean medicine clinic because I'm afraid of acupuncture.
I wondered if it was okay not to do things like sterilization in the first place.
Some of them were placed directly on top of the clothes.ㅜ
It turned out to be a procedure called IMS later on.
IMS is a method that can be performed without burden or side effects for those who do not improve with physical therapy or medication, and who have objections or contraindications to drug injections.
Muscles with inflammation or damaged muscles contract and become shortened. These shortened muscles not only cause pain in the muscles themselves but also negatively affect surrounding ligaments and joints, leading to various complications. During IMS treatment, fine needles are used to relax and soften the muscles, resulting in pain relief.
IMS procedure involves releasing muscles and relaxing them gently using dry needling with pure needles, without medication. It is a treatment method based on anatomical and Western medical principles, different from traditional Korean acupuncture in its principles and techniques.
It's a procedure I've never heard of before, but it seems similar to acupuncture in traditional Korean medicine.
It seems to be a topic with a lot of controversy.
Anyway, I didn't use such tools and just placed them by hand.ㅜ
And I also received physical therapy, and the physical therapist seemed to have been there for a long time.
I received physical therapy, but I felt like it was getting more painful. They said I need to go a few more times, but I didn't want to go anymore.ㅜ
The physical therapist told me to definitely come for physical therapy if the doctor’s procedure was too painful, so the next day I only received physical therapy, took medication, and applied heat at home, and I got better.
I'm not sure if IMS was effective.
I thought it was an incomprehensible medical practice to perform a procedure without any explanation or consent.
Director, the physical therapists are all very kind, but...
It has become a hospital I no longer want to go to.ㅜ
