How to relieve headaches - hot packs and stress management are key!
I have suffered from tension headaches for five years.
There are so many different types of headaches, too.ㅠㅠ
What is a tension headache?
When I have worries or concerns, I try not to think about them, but suddenly I start to get a headache.
I have mild to moderate pain across my entire head, on my forehead, or at the back of my head. Tension headaches usually last for several hours, so they are really difficult.
Since most painkillers take about 1-2 hours to take effect, do not apply ice when a headache occurs; instead, take medication.
It is better to treat and resolve pain early. Even if you are already experiencing severe pain, you can relieve it quickly by taking ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen, aspirin, or capsaicin nasal spray.
I feel okay after taking just one Tylenol.
Taking medicine... My own secret!
If you have tension headaches caused by stress, anxiety, or muscle pain, a warm towel can be more effective in relieving the pain than a cold one, so I warmly apply a hot compress.
Soaking a crayfish hand towel or a regular towel in water and heating it in the microwave for about 1 minute and 30 seconds for a hot compress works much better.
Warm compresses are good for tension headaches.
And managing stress is the most important thing. It’s not easy, but I make sure to get enough sleep, and I walk more than ten thousand steps while listening to meditation music frequently. When I get angry, feel depressed, worried, or anxious, I start to get a headache, but every time that happens, I take deep breaths, walk, and enjoy looking at flowers or trees, which makes me feel much better.
I keep trying to control my mind with the thought that worrying won't solve anything.
If you walk steadily and listen to meditation music, your mind becomes calm.
Headaches can occur when muscle tension becomes uncontrollable due to anger, frustration, or irritation.
There are many people like me who have tension headaches..
Anxiety, stress, and depression can also cause headaches. If emotional issues become severe enough to interfere with daily life, it is not a bad idea to seek professional help or consult a neurologist or psychiatrist to find solutions for emotional regulation problems.
If you're busy and find it difficult, watching the lecture of the emotion regulation expert on YouTube can also be helpful.
I hope everyone quickly gets out of their headache..
I've been feeling much better lately, so I take less headache medicine~
Fighting!
