I'm wondering if I should take brain supplements.

There is a family history of dementia on my maternal side, and as time goes by, my mental clarity is deteriorating, with severe forgetfulness. I heard they started taking brain supplements in their 40s. I'm considering seeing a neurologist, but it also feels like health anxiety.
