어쪄다.. 거의 아물었지만 약간의 흉터가 생길거같네요 남의 일이.아니네요.. 울아들도 맨날 팔꿈치 다쳐와요
My son almost fell while taking a shower in the shower stall, and he protected himself with his hand, hitting the glass and injuring his elbow. Two spots on his elbow are torn open... I feel so upset and heartbrokenㅜㅜ
Since it was a weekend evening, I quickly went to the Chungnam National University Hospital emergency room. I was so anxious and nervous that my heart was pounding... However, my son calmly acted as if he wasn't seriously ill. I guess I looked so shocked and flustered.
They said glass shards might be inside the torn wound, so an X-ray was also taken. The torn area on the elbow isn't large, but it was torn more deeply than expected. Fortunately, they reassured me that the nerves were not affected.
I also received antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and a glucose IV.
The inner skin was also stitched, as well as the outer skin. In the case of the elbow, since it is a place that bends a lot, it takes longer for the wound to heal compared to other areas, and it needs to be carefully managed. I disinfected it every day, and every 2 or 3 days, I went to the local orthopedic clinic for disinfection. The antibiotic ointment prescribed by the hospital instructs to apply it after removing the stitches. They said that applying the antibiotic ointment with stitches still in place could slow down the healing process.
It's been three weeks since I removed the stitches, and this is a photo from two weeks ago. The torn area is a bit deep, so a scar still remains. Every time I look at it, I feel upset, but my son seems to be very happy because he hasn't felt any frustration since the stitches were removed. He's a boy and very active, but this is the first time he's been seriously injured like this. I'm really relieved that it's not worse than this. Currently, I am applying scar removal ointment every day. I hope that over time, the scar will disappear completely.
