Treating insomnia with supplements and foods that aid sleep
A year ago, I developed insomnia due to severe stress at work and home. Not being able to sleep made daily life very difficult. So, I consistently took supplements and foods that help with sleep to treat my insomnia.
First, I took a plant-based melatonin supplement called Rulava to treat insomnia. This supplement contains 5 mg of plant-based melatonin per tablet, combined with L-tryptophan, L-theanine, and Lactium, and is made from a very small amount of extracted plant-based melatonin, which I found to be well-received. Additionally, I took Medishal plant-based liposomal melatonin, a product that maximizes absorption and stability through liposomal technology. This also contained a high dose of plant-based melatonin and was effective in treating insomnia.
Secondly, I looked for and ate foods containing tryptophan to treat insomnia. I had heard that warm milk helps with insomnia, and the tryptophan in milk increases the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is then converted into melatonin, aiding sleep. Additionally, for insomnia treatment, I ate tofu, fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, bananas, and cherries. Bananas help relax nerves due to their tryptophan and magnesium content, so I ate a lot of them. I also drank chamomile tea to help relax and reduce tension.
Third, since irregular sleeping hours can cause insomnia, I set a consistent bedtime of around 11 o'clock to treat insomnia. I also installed blackout curtains in the room to eliminate factors that disturb sleep and made efforts to improve sleep quality. Additionally, since exercise is said to help with deep sleep, I regularly walked for at least 30 minutes every day, which I believe contributed to the treatment of insomnia.
