Effective review of removing skin tags with CO2 laser

Since I was young, I had a small skin tag in my armpit. These days, I am getting armpit hair removal, and the dermatologist saw my skin tag. Since it was small, they suggested that it could be easily removed with laser treatment, so I decided to try it... I finally decided to remove the skin tag that has been bothering me for a long time. I'll share my experience of the effectiveness of CO2 laser removal of skin tags. (Warning: photos of my armpit!! Taking photos with one hand is really difficult🤣)

 

Molluscum contagiosum usually occurs in adults or due to aging, but I have had it since I was very young. I think I had it since elementary school. At the time, I didn't know what it was, but later I found out it was molluscum contagiosum.

I have tried pulling it out by hand and even removing it myself with tweezers, but I only ended up screamingㅋㅋ and it never actually came off. Turns out, the cleanest method is laser treatment.

 

What is a CO2 laser?

There are various types of lasers, but the CO2 laser is particularly effective for removing skin tags. The CO2 laser uses carbon dioxide gas to burn the lesion with heat. It has the advantages of minimal pain and scarring, as well as quick recovery, making it especially suitable for removing small spots and skin tags.

 

 

Pre-laser condition of skin tags

There was one in each armpit, one was protruding outward and the other was extremely tiny.

 

 

Removal method

First, apply the anesthesia cream to the area and wait for about 20 minutes. Using the laser is really simple and quick. It felt like about 3 minutes? Of course, if there are many spots, it will take longer.

 

 

Pain

Maybe because the size was small, I didn't feel any pain at all. In fact, pain can vary from person to person. I searched through several blogs, and it seems that whether or not there is pain depends on the individual.

 

 

Post-removal care instructions

The advantage of the CO2 laser is that you don't necessarily need to apply Duoderm. Usually, when it comes to lasers, you have to keep Duoderm on for two weeks, but this doesn't require that, which is great! Once a scab naturally forms, you just apply cream, and when it heals, it's done, so it's not particularly difficult to care for. Of course, you should avoid saunas and vigorous exercise for about two weeks.

 

 

Laser two weeks later

The protruding skin tag suddenly fell off and disappeared! I read a lot about the effectiveness of CO2 laser, and I was amazed to see the immediate results of the CO2 laser effect. It's been a short while, so there are still some slight red marks.

 

Maybe because it's smaller on the other side, there are no marks and it healed quickly!! This is the end here!

 

 

5 weeks after laser treatment

This is the location where the protruding skin tag was. Actually, I had forgotten about it completely for a month, but when I looked at it after a long time, the red mark had disappeared and it had healed to a brown color!!

 

 

6 weeks after laser treatment

Only a slight trace remains, and the brown stain has disappeared. If you look closely, there is a mark like this, and I hope it will disappear after a few months. Haha

 

The dermatologist said that the skin tags are small and that CO2 laser treatment would be effective, but they also mentioned that it might not disappear all at once. At this point, I don't think another laser treatment is necessary.

Compared to other treatments, it didn't hurt and left no scars, so I think I really benefited from the CO2 laser effect!

However, since skin tags may darken in color and reappear later, I think you should check them frequently.

For now, it's certain that the CO2 laser has had an effect, so I don't think there's any need to worry about skin tags for the time being, haha.
