Actress Lee Ha-nee has been imposed with a substantial tax surcharge of 6 billion won, and suspicions have been raised regarding the source of funds for her real estate purchases.

On the 18th, Field News reported that Hope Project, a private agency founded by Lee Hanee with an initial capital of only 10 million won, purchased real estate worth approximately 6.5 billion won under its corporate name two years after its establishment, but the source of the funds is unclear.

 

He pointed out that Lee Ha-nee, who was imposed with the highest-ever tax penalty for a celebrity by the National Tax Service, neglects her tax obligations while actively increasing her personal assets through real estate investments using a corporation, which could lead to criticism.

The real estate mentioned here is a two-story building with a total floor area of 173.63 square meters, located on a 332 square meter (approximately 100 pyeong) land in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

 

Lee Hani purchased a large amount of real estate without additional capital contribution, and the registration certificate also shows no record of a loan secured by this property at the time of acquisition in 2017.

However, there were two instances of seizure records from Yongsan District Office in March 2022 and November of last year.

This appears to be an administrative measure related to unpaid local taxes (such as property tax, acquisition tax, etc.).

 

In response to these controversies, Lee Ha-nee's agency stated, "This matter pertains to the artist's private life, so we are unable to provide specific details," and exercised their right to remain silent.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Regional Tax Office conducted a rigorous tax investigation against Lee Hae-ni and Hope Project in September of last year.

In this process, the National Tax Service imposed a tax deficiency of 6 billion won on Lee Ha-nee.

The amount of the additional tax was a huge sum compared to Song Hye-kyo, who was fined 3.5 billion won after a past tax investigation, and Kwon Sang-woo, who was fined 1 billion won, drawing a lot of attention from many people.
