Mother's throat caught on a grape seed... 10-year-old son saved her with Heimlich maneuver (video)
Wow.. You're only 10 years old, but you handled it calmly and well.
They say that they also learn the Heimlich maneuver at school..
I have taught children multiple times about the Heimlich maneuver.
Please make sure to teach children once again how to perform the Heimlich maneuver so they can help in case of sudden emergencies involving candies, fruit seeds, rice cakes, or similar situations.
A 10-year-old boy performed Heimlich maneuver emergency treatment, saving his mother from a choking incident, making headlines.
On the 6th (local time), according to a report by Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP), a woman was captured choking and coughing while eating grapes at her home on the 17th of last month. Her 10-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, who were at home at the time, saw their mother struggling and immediately tried to help her.
The son first patted his mother's back and handed her water, but she was experiencing severe difficulty breathing and couldn't drink properly. Then, the son calmly performed the Heimlich maneuver, and eventually, the mother coughed up a grape seed, overcoming the crisis.
When their mother regained her composure, the son also showed a 'cool' attitude by picking up his phone again to continue playing a game. Netizens who watched the CCTV footage of the scene praised the son's calm response.
Meanwhile, the Heimlich maneuver is an emergency procedure that applies strong pressure to the chest to expel food or foreign objects that may block the airway and cause suffocation.
The procedure is to first wrap your arms around the patient's waist from behind. Then, the rescuer wraps their right hand around their left fist, places it on the patient's upper abdomen, and quickly pushes the fist upward. Continue this motion until the foreign object is expelled or the patient loses consciousness.
