A heavy snowfall warning has been issued in Seoul amid nationwide forecasts of snow.
The Korea Meteorological Administration issued a heavy snowfall warning for most areas of Seoul and Gyeonggi Province starting at 3:30 PM on the 6th.
A heavy snow warning has been issued for Incheon and the northwest region of Chungnam.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that up to 10cm of snow will fall in Seoul and the metropolitan area by tomorrow, with over 15cm expected on the Chungcheong and Honam West Coast. In particular, heavy snow with a maximum of 3 to 5cm per hour may fall in southern Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong, and Honam regions, raising concerns about potential damage.
The central region including the metropolitan area will gradually stop snowing from tomorrow afternoon, but snow is expected to continue falling in Honam and Jeju until the weekend.
The snow is expected to continue falling until tomorrow (the 7th).
The cumulative snowfall in Seoul is 0.5 cm. This snow is expected to fall nationwide until Friday, the 7th.
In the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon region, most of the rain will stop during the day, while in the Chungcheong and Gyeongsang regions, it will cease in the afternoon, and in Jeolla and Jeju, it is expected to gradually stop at night.
The expected snowfall until the 7th is 1 to 5 cm in Seoul, Incheon, and northern Gyeonggi Province, 3 to 8 cm in southern Gyeonggi Province and the West Sea Five Islands, and 3 to 8 cm in the Gangwon region.
5 to 10 cm (with some areas exceeding 15 cm) is forecasted for the Chungnam West Coast, southern inland Chungnam, and southern Chungbuk, while 3 to 8 cm is expected for the rest of the Chungcheong region.
In the southern region, 5 to 10 cm (with some areas exceeding 15 cm) are forecasted for North Jeolla Province, Gwangju, and South Jeolla Province (excluding the eastern southern coast), 1 to 5 cm for the eastern southern coast of South Jeolla Province, and 5 to 10 cm for Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
1 to 5 cm of snowfall is expected in the western inland of North Gyeongsang, the northeastern inland and mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang, and the western inland of South Gyeongsang. Light snowfall is anticipated along the central inland and eastern coast of Daegu and North Gyeongsang, as well as the central inland and western southern coast of South Gyeongsang.
Snowfall is expected to be 5 to 10 cm in the mountainous areas of Jeju, 3 to 8 cm in the mid-mountain regions of Jeju, and 1 to 5 cm along the coast of Jeju.
