According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and Geoje Police Station on the 3rd, a report was received at 2:45 PM on the 1st that there was a corpse on a hill in Okpo-dong, Geoje City.

At that time, a nearby resident discovered and reported it while hurriedly descending along the slope.

The corpse had already decomposed completely, leaving only bones, and clothing remained at the scene.

It has been understood that this area, located several tens of meters away from the hiking trail, has a steep slope, which caused the delay in discovery.

There have been no signs of a crime discovered so far. However, the police plan to conduct a multi-faceted investigation, citing the fact that the body was left unattended for a considerable amount of time.

The police first requested an autopsy and DNA testing from the National Forensic Service. Once the identity is confirmed, they plan to proceed with procedures such as comparing with missing persons.

A police official stated, "Since the remains are skeletal, we cannot estimate the time of death based on appearance," and added, "There are no traces of being buried, so it is highly unlikely to be murder, but we will continue the investigation without making a definitive conclusion."
