According to Shinsegae Food on the 22nd, in celebration of the Christmas season, the cumulative sales of the 'Maltese Strawberry Roll Cake' offered at 9,980 won in bakery 'Boulangerie' and 'E Bakery' stores across Emart nationwide from the 30th of last month to the 20th over three weeks have exceeded 15,000 units.

Especially, the number of pre-orders currently being held on SSG.com since the 13th has increased by 31% compared to the same period last year, indicating a strong sales trend. Shinsegae Food expects that if the current sales trend continues until the peak Christmas season of 23-24, more than 30,000 units of the 'Flower Cake,' which was sold at the same price (9,980 won) last year, will be sold, surpassing the 25,000 units sold last year.

Shinsegae Food analyzed that the popularity of this 'Maltese Strawberry Roll Cake' is due to consumers seeking cost-effectiveness and frugal spending amid prolonged high inflation and a shrinking consumer sentiment, leading them to prefer budget-friendly cakes when purchasing Christmas cakes.

Additionally, despite the reasonable price, using cute characters or strawberries to create a party atmosphere is also considered one of the reasons for gaining positive responses from consumers.

The "Maltese Strawberry Roll Cake," a mini fresh cream rice roll cake introduced by Shinsegae Food for 9,980 won, is characterized by its abundant soft cream and a cute atmosphere created with a Maltese dog character "Maltese" decor pick and strawberries.
