As the police continue their investigation into the YouTube uploader of the "36-week pregnancy termination (abortion)" video, it has been confirmed that the hospital director who performed the abortion surgery cremated the fetus.

According to police and others on the 19th, the hospital director of Hospital A in the metropolitan area, who performed an abortion on a woman in her 20s who uploaded a 36-week abortion YouTube video, was found to have cremated the fetal remains and obtained a certificate from the cremation company.

According to the current laws regarding funerals and related matters, a fetus that dies after four months of pregnancy must undergo funeral procedures such as burial or cremation. At this time, a certificate of stillbirth indicating the type of stillbirth and the cause of death must be submitted to the cremation company.

Hospital A stated that they submitted a stillbirth certificate and proceeded with cremation. However, it cannot be ruled out that the contents of the stillbirth certificate submitted by Hospital A were false.

Meanwhile, the problematic video was uploaded to YouTube last June with the title "Total Surgery Cost 9 Million Won, 120 Hours of Hell" and spread across online communities under the title "36-Week Fetus Abortion Vlog."

When the video became controversial, the Ministry of Health and Welfare referred the doctor who performed the surgery and the mother to the police for investigation on charges including murder last month on the 12th. On the 15th of last month, the police assigned the case to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit, and the following day, they conducted an investigation of the complainant with officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The police identified the YouTuber and confirmed the hospital through analysis of the YouTube video itself and cooperation with relevant agencies. Last month, after a search and seizure, they registered the YouTuber and the hospital director as suspects.
