It has been confirmed that one of the two employees who were exposed to radiation during work at Samsung Electronics' Giheung plant last May is on the verge of having their finger amputated.

The author of the post on the Samsung Electronics union members' bulletin board, who identified themselves as an affected employee, wrote that they are currently postponing and waiting for the amputation of seven fingers.

He explained that all the necrotic skin caused by radiation exposure had been removed and that the joints were also affected by radiation, resulting in abnormal finger function.

He added that the accident was not caused by him intentionally disabling safety equipment, but rather due to inadequate management by the company's facilities and safety team, and that industrial accident compensation has been approved. The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission is scheduled to determine the fault next month.
