According to Jeonju Deokjin Police Station and others, around 5:30 a.m. on the 12th, a vehicle overturned on a road in Jang-dong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju.
Police officers responded through the automatic reporting system within the vehicle, and upon arriving at the scene, it was found that four high school students, including A, were on the road. It was confirmed that they had not been drinking.
In response to the police officer's question asking who the driver was, they pointed to Mr. B, who was not present at the scene, as the driver.
They stated, "He is an older brother whose name I only know. He said he had a stomachache and went to the bathroom."
However, when the police officers, who found it strange that B had gone to the bathroom after a traffic accident, questioned B and said, "If it's a lie, you could be punished for charges such as fleeing from the scene,"
Ultimately, Mr. B retracted his statement, claiming he was not the driver, and Mr. A confessed that he was the one driving.
The police are investigating A for violating the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license).
It was revealed that Mr. B is an acquaintance who lent a rental car to them.
A police officer stated, "It has been confirmed that Mr. B hurried to the scene after receiving contact from Mr. A's party," and added, "We plan to determine whether Mr. B will be formally charged by reviewing rental car usage records and vehicle black box footage."
