Malaria alert issued... It's in Yangcheon-gu;;;

Two cases of malaria cluster have occurred in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government issued a 'Malaria Alert' today (9th) at 5 PM.

Malaria alert is a measure issued to prevent the spread within the community when the first cluster case occurs after the nationwide malaria warning has been issued.

A cluster case refers to a situation where two or more patients develop symptoms within 14 days in a malaria risk area, and their residences are within 1 km of each other.

It was announced that to prevent the spread of malaria, messages will be sent to local residents and Yangcheon-gu, and support will be provided for rapid diagnostic tests to facilitate early detection of patients.

This year, 234 cases of domestic malaria have been reported, and the Disease Control Agency issued a nationwide malaria alert on the 18th of last month.
