It was later revealed that city council members affiliated with the People Power Party in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, caused a disturbance by destroying restaurant fixtures, using profanity, and assaulting each other at a restaurant. It was confirmed that they fought over the allocation of office spaces, each wanting a larger office.

According to political circles on the 5th, the People Power Party of Anyang City Council held a general assembly of members on the 3rd and decided to refer Assembly Member A of the same party to the Ethics Committee and recommend his withdrawal from the party.

Re-election candidate A was involved in a disturbance at around 6 p.m. on the 1st at a restaurant in Pyeongchon-dong, Dongan-gu, Anyang City, where he was dining with seven fellow party lawmakers, during which he verbally abused his colleagues and damaged restaurant fixtures.

The fight broke out as the members of the People Power Party were assigning office spaces ahead of the second half of the legislative session, with each claiming the large room on the first floor of the parliament. During this process, Representative A insulted one member and swung fists at another. It is also reported that a member was cut and bled from shards of dishes thrown by him.

A 의원 explained, "There is a precedent and tradition, and first-term lawmakers made sarcastic remarks about seat assignments to senior lawmakers, which made me angry and I swore," but also clarified, "I did not hit anyone with my fists or throw dishes." He also claimed that he was intoxicated and could not remember.

However, the assaulted legislator claimed, "It is true that Legislator A hit me, and I was struck in the face, causing another legislator to bleed."

The restaurant owner said, "Other city council members who were trying to manage the situation sent an additional 200,000 won to my account as compensation for damages on top of the food costs," and added, "There was a big commotion, with several dishes broken and chairs also damaged."
