Singer Sean's first domestic Lou Gehrig's disease nursing hospital, which has been promoted for 14 years, is nearing completion this December.
Soon recently shared on his Instagram that "Dreams come true if you don't give up," and he posted an update along with photos of the construction site, showing that the first Lou Gehrig's disease rehabilitation hospital in Korea, worth 21.8 billion won, is being built. In December of last year, the Seungil Hope Foundation held the groundbreaking ceremony for Korea's first Lou Gehrig's disease nursing hospital in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The Lou Gehrig's disease nursing hospital will have a total floor area of 4,995 square meters, with two underground floors and four above ground, equipped with 76 beds, rehabilitation facilities, an auditorium, and more.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Seung-il Hope Foundation Co-CEOs Park Seung-il and Shin, along with Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il, attended. Also present were Neo플 CEO Yoon Myung-jin and General Director Lee Won-man, who supported the construction cost of 2 billion won.
Seungil Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization co-founded by former professional basketball coach Park Seung-il, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease in 2002 and is currently battling the illness, and singer Sean.

Sean said, "I met Seung-il 14 years ago and dreamed, and I have been running nonstop for 14 years," adding, "Many people have shared their hearts with me, and many fellow celebrities and citizens have supported me by taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge."
Shun led the Ice Bucket Challenge domestically, attracting a lot of attention, and also participated in events such as the 2023 Chuncheon Marathon, the 2023 Miracle 365 Ice Bucket Challenge Run, and the Tongyeong Triathlon to raise funds for hospital construction, having donated over 550 million won to date.
Lou Gehrig's disease is a rare disorder with an unknown exact cause, characterized by the destruction of some motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. It causes symptoms such as muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, speech difficulties, weight loss, and limb weakness, and ultimately has a high probability of leading to respiratory failure and death.
