On the 12th (local time), according to the Korean Embassy in Thailand and local media Kao Sot, Thai police found the body of a Korean male tourist, Mr. A (34), inside a large black plastic container filled with cement at a reservoir in Pattaya the night before.
According to Thai police, Mr. A entered Thailand on the 30th of last month. Since then, on the 7th, an unknown man called Mr. A's mother and said that Mr. A had harmed them by throwing away drugs, and demanded a ransom of 3 million baht (approximately 110 million won), or else his son would be killed.
Ms. A's mother immediately reported the incident to the Korean Embassy in Thailand, which in turn requested cooperation from the Thai police. As a result, the police formed an investigation team to track Mr. A's whereabouts, and a witness came forward stating that they last saw him at a club in the Huai Khwang area of Thailand on the 2nd.

The police checked the CCTV around the club and confirmed that around 2 a.m. on the 3rd, two Koreans took Mr. A in a rental car to Pattaya, then transferred to another pickup truck, and that they rented accommodation near a pond in Pattaya.
Afterwards, the pickup truck left the lodging around 9 PM on the 4th with a black object loaded in the cargo area, parked near the reservoir for about an hour, and then returned to the lodging.
The police deployed divers into the reservoir and recovered the body. They tracked the CCTV footage and confirmed that the group traveling in this vehicle had purchased plastic containers and ropes at a store beforehand.
The police authorities have identified three Korean suspects, one of whom left Thailand on the 9th. The remaining two have not been confirmed to have left Thailand, and Thai police are currently tracking their whereabouts.
I thought I was scammed by locals because it was Thailand, but it turns out they're Korean...ㅠ
