"40,000 Won Turned into 1.33 Million Won"... K-Companies Beat Samsung and Hyundai with Ramen

Samyang Foods' rise, which began with Buldak Bokkeum Myeon, far exceeded industry expectations.

The stock price, which was once in the 40,000 won range, recently soared to 1.33 million won, and the market capitalization exceeded 10 trillion won, putting it in a higher position than traditional powerhouses such as Hyundai Glovis and Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

The company, which started with Samyang Ramen, is now growing its presence in the global food market with Buldak Bokkeum Myeon at the forefront.

The spicy ramen challenge craze on social media has become more than just a trend; it's become a driving force that simultaneously boosts corporate value and brand awareness.

The decisive factor behind Samyang Foods' rapid stock price rise is its performance in the global market. It's not just a "best-selling ramen," but its expansion into a consumer culture.

In fact, Buldak Bokkeum Myeon has taken social media by storm with the "Spicy Ramen Eating Challenge" in the US, China, and Europe. From famous artists to everyday people, countless challenge videos have taken over YouTube and TikTok.

As evidence of this popularity, Samyang Foods' overseas sales jumped nearly 14-fold from KRW 93.1 billion in 2016 to KRW 1.3359 trillion in 2024. Of the 1.48 billion units sold in 2024, a whopping 1.3 billion were sold overseas.

In line with this trend, DS Investment & Securities raised its target price for Samyang Foods from 1.3 million won to 1.6 million won. The researcher analyzed, "As the proportion of overseas sales continues to increase, profitability is also improving."

Following the launch of its second Miryang plant, Samyang Foods plans to establish its first overseas plant in China in 2027. This strategy aims to proactively address growing overseas demand by strengthening its production infrastructure.

As Samyang Foods, a traditional ramen manufacturer, transforms into a global food company, 'Buldak Bokkeum Myeon' has become more than just a hit product; it has become a new growth engine.

As the status of K-food rises, the domestic and international industries are paying close attention to Samyang Foods' moves.
