Search continues for the 10s who went missing after being swept away by a rapid current while playing in Hongcheon River for the second day

On the 16th, four teenagers playing in the water at Hongcheon River were swept away by a rapid current, and on the 17th, search efforts for one missing person resumed.

The fire department is deploying five pieces of equipment and 17 personnel around 6:30 a.m. to conduct a search operation in District A (15).

A report was received at 6:40 PM the previous day that four teenagers were drowning in the Hongcheon River near an apartment in Hwahwae-ri, North Bang-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, while playing in the water.

Due to this accident, A was reported missing, and the police and fire authorities conducted a night search until 11 p.m. the previous day, but he was not found.

Two female students who were playing in the water were rescued by soldiers before the fire department arrived the day before, but they received treatment at a nearby hospital for hypothermia, dizziness, and chest pain.

Another male student evacuated to a safe place on his own and went home.

It is known that all of these are in a state that does not threaten their lives.

The police are investigating the exact details of the accident.
