60 million won each, a total of 1.8 billion won... New apartment landscaping stones bustling with activity
A massive landscaping rock installed at a newly built apartment complex in Seoul that moved in earlier this year has sparked controversy. Online discussions are ongoing, with claims that the installation was carried out unilaterally without the consent of the majority of union members or residents.
According to industry sources on the 25th, at a newly constructed apartment complex located in Imun-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, construction has been ongoing since the 23rd to remove existing landscaping such as trees and other greenery, and to install large landscape stones. The released photos show a large boulder with the apartment name prominently written in large font on its front. Scenes of trucks and excavators being used to move and lift the landscape stones have also been captured.
A related post on the workplace community Blind has garnered particular attention. The author of this post attached several photos showing the installation of landscaping stones and claimed, "Without any prior notice or consent from the members, the union president and his close associates unilaterally brought in these grotesque stones, damaging the healthy landscaping trees and grass." They further stated, "Each of these stones costs 60 million won, and apparently there are more than 20 large stones to be brought in. It is said that they contracted 30 stones for 1.8 billion won."
