I really dislike Trump, now it's 'NO America'... A flood of cancellations and boycotts of U.S. travel
The global backlash against the high-intensity tariffs and border policies of the Donald Trump administration in the United States is leading to boycotts of American products and a decline in travel.
According to Bloomberg News on the 15th (local time), the U.S. International Trade Administration (ITA) announced that the number of visitors to the United States via March flights decreased by 10% compared to the previous year. Additionally, Goldman Sachs Group estimated that the worst-case scenario could result in a 0.3% decrease in U.S. travel and a hit of $90 billion (approximately 128.7 trillion won) to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) this year.
Bloomberg reported that many Canadians planning trips to the United States are recently canceling their plans due to growing anti-American sentiment. According to the consumer price index released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on the 10th, airfare, hotel rates, and rental car prices decreased last month.
Inflation Insight, an inflation analysis company, explained that hotel rates have fallen by about 11% especially in the Northeastern United States, which may be a result of a decrease in Canadian travelers.
According to the market research firm 'OAG Aviation Worldwide,' the number of flight bookings from Canada to the United States has decreased by 70% compared to the same period last year, up to September.
The number of hotel reservations in the United States by European tourists through the hotel booking platform Accor SA has decreased by 25% this summer.
Sebastian Vachon Accord SA President said that recent cases of European tourists being detained during U.S. immigration checks seem to have led them to turn their attention to other travel destinations.
Goldman Sachs economists Joseph Bricks and Megan Peters analyzed in a report last month that "the announcement of tariffs by the United States and a more aggressive stance towards traditional allies have damaged the global perception of the United States."
He added, "This backlash provides another reason why the U.S. GDP growth rate in 2025 may fall short of market expectations, in addition to the direct negative impact of tariffs and the decline in exports due to retaliation."

Because of one poorly chosen president, the United States, which once held global authority, is now turning its back even on its allies...
You really need to choose a good representative for the country.
