20s who drank free coffee with stolen coupon cards and stamps... sentenced to 24 times the fine

To a woman in her 20s who habitually received free coffee and other items using stolen coupon cards and stamps at a cafe.

A fine sentence was imposed.

 

Judge Moon Jong-cheol of the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 7-1 has been indicted on charges of theft, fraud, forgery of private documents, and possession of forged private documents.

It was announced on the 25th that a fine of 2 million won has been imposed on Ms. A (female, 29).

 

Mr. A was at a cafe counter in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, from mid-March to mid-April of last year for one month.

He was brought to trial on charges of stealing one stamp for coupons and 103 coupon cards over eight occasions.

 

On the back of this cafe's coupon card, collect 10 stamps to receive a free Americano coffee and macaroon.

 

Americano coffee is sold for 3,200 won, and macarons are sold for 2,500 won each.

 

Mr. A created 23 coupon cards that allow him to enjoy free coffee and macarons by using stolen stamps and other items.

He used it seven times in total, stealing beverages worth 83,000 won.

 

Judge Moon stated, "Based on the suspect's interrogation records, police statements, and cafe CCTV footage, guilt is established."

 

It was stated that "if the fine is not paid, 100,000 won will be converted to a daily rate and the defendant will be detained in the labor camp for 20 days."
