Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, was booked by the police on charges of violating the Food Labeling and Advertising Act.
This is in response to a complaint filed regarding allegations of false advertising about the origin of 'Baekdabang' products.
Seoul Gangnam Police Station on the 21st, during the promotion of a new menu by Baek Dabang operated by Representative Baek
It was announced that a complaint has been received alleging that there was an intent to mislead regarding the country of origin.
The complaint concerns an advertisement image posted on the official social media service (SNS) Instagram of Baekdabang in January of last year.
It was understood that the content was included. Although the phrase "Our agricultural products, our Baekdabang" was used to promote the "Chewy Sweet Potato Bread,"
Another advertisement stated that it contains some Chinese sweet potatoes.
