'Skin rash after returning from Vietnam'... Global measles outbreak, 7 confirmed cases in Korea
There are 3 infants under 1 year old, 1 person in their 20s, and 2 people in their 30s, with 2 from Gwangju and 4 from Jeonnam. Additionally, one confirmed case in their 20s was reported in Jeju.
Last month, one infant who visited Vietnam with their family showed symptoms such as fever and was hospitalized for treatment, leading to their initial diagnosis. Subsequently, it was confirmed that infants, guardians, and hospital staff who had contact at the same hospital were infected.
All of them are known to have received treatment and are currently recovering their health. The health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation into patients' movements and contacts. The total number of measles cases in the country was 49 last year, and so far this year, 21 cases have been reported.
In Vietnam, approximately 40,000 suspected cases have occurred this year, with 5 deaths among them. The local Ministry of Health recently issued a measles alert, stating that the number of deaths in the past three months is equal to the total number of deaths in the entire previous year.
72.7% of Vietnamese infected patients are aged between 9 months and under 15 years, and 15.3% are under 9 months. Regionally, the southern area, including Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city, accounts for the highest at 57%. The central region follows with 19.2%, the northern region with 15.1%, and the Central Highlands with 8.7%.
Measles is transmitted through the air via coughing or sneezing and is highly contagious. Symptoms include fever, rash, and grayish-white spots inside the mouth. People with insufficient immunity have over a 90% chance of infection when in contact with an infected person.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency stated, "Before traveling, you must verify that you have received both doses of the measles vaccine. If not vaccinated, you should complete the two doses at least six weeks before departure," and "If you experience fever or rash symptoms after traveling, suspect measles and visit a medical facility."

I saw the measles warning article, but it seems to be more serious than I thought.
People with weakened immune systems are more easily infected, so we need to be more careful.
The plan to travel with my parents is temporarily on hold.
